An Absolutely Attention Attenuating Title (News)

Updates from the studio this week...

I'm very excited to be reaching out with another blog post. The tug of social media is so insane...

Trillions of dollars pour into our feeds to grab our attention and addict our neuro-chemistry- with beautiful people doing novel, taboo-breaking things while music plays and ads that promise us happiness. 

To me, there's almost no competing with all that content while retaining any sort of feeling of integrity. Which is a major reason why I wanted to try and reach people the old fashioned way- directly, self-selected and without having my work being sandwiched between an ad for Vrbo and the funniest meme you've seen in a month. Not to mention Meta's plans to flood the system with AI "personalities".

You can safely translate the word 'plans' into 'has already implemented and is just now trying to gauge the public's reaction'.

So my strategy going forward with Instagram and other socials is to make satire reels in the cringiest/ most trending format I can think of or only post when I release a new painting- paintings which you, as an e-mail subscriber/ regular visitor to the website will see first. Speaking of which, here's another shot of Year of the Dragon.

New Product Alert!

I've been watching a fair share of blog writing tutorials and advice. Every one I've seen states that I should plug a product. So here's a new one for y'all- the Forest Family hoodie. I have no idea when I'll be releasing it to everyone else.

My friend Lindsey (shouts) said she wanted one, so I had one made and sent to her. I haven't ordered any myself yet but she says it looks fire, is super soft but may run a bit small (I always get an extra large when it comes to hoodies)

It comes in four different shades of grey, and features the Forest Family image.

News / WIPs

So, I've secure a mural gig this spring near Washington, DC for a venue that hosts puzzle games and a bar. Kind of like an escape room with no escape involved. Anyway I've been working on a mock-up for them and here's where I'm at with it currently. They wanted a splice between Forest Family and the mural I created in Las Vegas last year.

I will also have a solo show this year in 2025! My very first! It will be in the fall in Denver and I will share details (and probably remind you constantly) in the future when they are known.

P.S.: I'm working on making special prints for Year of the Dragon. They are expensive and take a long time- being both embossed (raised textures) AND holographic. Thinking of doing an edition based off of the amount of pre-orders I get. Would you buy one? They'd probably be around $75. Sound off in the comments (which I've just added).
