‘Momento Mori’ Original Painting

“Remember, you will die” is what the title translates into from Latin. This phrase is a trope designed to remind anyone hearing or reading it that life is short, and is intended to encourage contemplation of how to use the time we have while alive.
When people ask me what my inspiration is, I often tell them a version of this. I’m inspired by the fact that there’s a ticking clock and I’ll only have so many paintings I can make, only so much time for expression and a limited impact I can leave on the world.
